Since 1958, the World's Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up has been held in Sweetwater, Texas and sponsored by the Sweetwater Jaycees. They started the Rattlesnake Round-Up in 1958. The event has grown over the past 38 years to the "WORLD'S LARGEST RATTLESNAKE ROUND-UP". As of 1996, 231,636 pounds of Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes have been collected. The Round-Up is held annually on the 2nd full weekend in March at the Nolan County Coliseum.
