11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Come to Elachee and enjoy our most popular Saturday program. Snakes and their reptilian cousins will be the stars on this exciting day. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Whit Gibbons, Senior Ecologist and director of environmental outreach at Savannah River Ecology Lab and author of eight books on herpetology, will share his expertise in a presentation about the wonders of Georgia's reptiles and amphibians. Noted herpetologist, Greg Greer, will present a program titled "Snakebite Envenomation". Members of the North Georgia Herpetological Society will bring many of their snakes and other reptiles and amphibians. Crafts and face painting for children of all ages. Naturalist-led hikes in the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve. Sponsored by Tipton Construction Company.
Admission: Adults, $3.00; Children ages 2-12, $1.50;
Children under 2 and Elachee members, free. The SHHS will be providing venomous animals for display.
