A breed of wild origins dating back 6,000 years, these dogs (related to dingos) are small to medium sized with a fox-like appearance and behavior. They are extremely intelligent, agile and graceful. When well socialized, they are very submissive and gentle towards people. However, they still retain their strong wild hunting instincts. Their most unique characteristic is their dramatic ability to vary the pitch of their howl.

The New Guinea Singing Dog is an extremely healthy breed with no genetic diseases. Additionally, this breed is a very long living dog with an average life expectancy of 15-20 years which is much longer than most dogs

The New Guinea Singing Dog is a sweet dog but is almost extinct in the wild, and generally not available to individuals. Additionally, they are closely related to wild dogs and are being protected by many zoos.
