I have 12.4 captive-born hypomelanistic Banded Water Snake babies for sale, born 08/05/09. All show some degree of hypomelanism, with no real black pigment anywhere, and they get nicer and nicer with each shed. All are feeding on strips of fresh cut Tilapia or Salmon from my fingers, or on frozen-thawed scented pinkies, though they would probably take unscented pinkies as well. This form of hypomelanism has been proven co-dominant by other breeders, and some of the babies could be "Super Hypos", so the potential for some great colors is limitless. Contrary to popular belief, Water Snakes are NOT vicious, nasty snakes; I have had no problem taming even wild-caught adults, and these babies are very tame. Neither they nor their mother have ever struck or musked. These snakes are cared for in the same manner as any other Colubrid, and will make great pets as well as breeders.
