monitors and crocs. Day 2-10 we

This will be a ten day tour with
Donald Schultz and Devon Massyn to
some prime snake hunting spots in
iconic Zululand, South Africa.
Cost of tour is $4000 usd
(excluding airfare, including food,
accommodation, transport in South
Africa and a killer snake handling
course led by myself and Devon for
those keen) we will collect you at
Durban Airport) with a maximum of
10 people.
Portion of proceeds will go to
rhino conservation in South Africa.
Day 1
Arrive Durban – King Shaka
International Airport
Transfer up to Umkhumbi Lodge
Settle in, orientation, safety
brief, gear check.
Day 2
Set out for some herping on nearby
farms. Species to include Herald
Snakes, Brown House Snakes,
Mozambique Spitters, Snouted
Cobras, Forest Cobras, Puff Adder,
Boomslang, Vine Snake…
Short siesta in the afternoon
before heading out on a night
cruise in a Northerly direction.
Nocturnal species to target include
File Snakes, Marble Tree Snakes,
Eastern Tiger Snake, Mole Snake,
Python, Stiletto Snake, Natal Black
Snake…
Day 3
Early morning game drive to
Hluhluwe – Umfolozi Game Reserve.
The oldest Game Park in Africa
boasting a wide variety of wildlife
including the Big 5 and endangered
species like African Wild Dog and
Cheetah.
Day 4
We head South to St Lucia.
Some herping at Sugar Estates,
species to target include Forest
Cobra, Black Mamba, Green Mamba,
Python, Gaboon Adder…
Spend time at the Crocodile Center
taking part in whatever they are
busy with. It will be nesting
season and there may be problem
crocs that need to be moved.
Day 5
More herping in the area on some
private game farms in the area to
pick up species that may still be
elusive…
Night cruising trying different
roads to increase the species
count.
Day 6
Do some herping in the rural areas
around Mduku. The communities
continually call us out to remove
problem animals usually resulting
in Forest Cobras, Snouted Cobras,
Black mambas and monster Pythons.
Day 7
Late afternoon we head out to
Nisela in Swaziland. Target species
there to include Black Mamba,
Boomslang, Spitting Cobra, Grass
Snakes, Pythons…
Day 8
Head North towards Kruger National
Park
Afternoon Game Drive in the biggest
Wildlife Park in South Africa.
Night cruising in the area.
Day 9
Head up to the Blyde River area to
try and find some species that
occur at altitude.
Day 10
Head to Johannesburg
This rate includes:
Accommodation, meals on a dinner,
breakfast and lunch basis for the
duration of the safari.
2 game drives, one in Hluhluwe –
Umfolozi Game Reserve and one in
Kruger National Park.
Entrance fees where applicable as
per itinerary.
