As you can tell there has been some confusion on my Lepidus. I've had several people telling different things and giving me some slightly incorrect information. But, I have talked to the Herpetologist(Alan Welch) that these have come from and now I have the correct information on them. So i'm sorry for all the confusion on this matter. To make this easier, i'll just insert what he wrote to me....."The rock rattlers that you now have are still called l. lepidus. I am trying to get them reclassified to klauberi. Unfortunately in the biology world, changing old data to new is like pulling teeth from a croc. My self, and other herpetologists believe that these snakes are in fact klauberi, but until I get an approval from higher up, I still have to call them lepidus. As for hybrids, probably in some cases. Due to the genetics of these snakes being the same as a klaub, there is only pattern and altitude to go off of for species identification. If they do in fact change them to klauberi, they will be the only red/pink klaubs around, and it will move their previous locality 250 east of the original marker." Now,that is all straightened out. I'm lowering the price on these guys to $350 obo (plus shipping/ no box charge)for the pair, that's a very good deal for this high red/pink pair. These are great snakes and I really do hate to part with them, but they are the only ones in my collection that I can let go right now for christmas money.
