Excellent writing Allen, as usual. Well, I was lucky enough to win a pair of Gental Giant Tongs at the Columbia S.C. Reptile Show for $16 worth of raffle tickets. My only disappointment with the tongs came when I first got home from the show with a male Eastern Brown and a female Taipan that I had purchased. The Taipan wasn't too bad moving her to her new cage by hooking and tailing her. The Eastern Brown, on the other hand, had different ideas about where he wanted to set up lodging. That's when the problem with the GG's came in. I didn't actually have them yet. We had left the Reptile Show before the winner of the tongs was announced, and Midwest had to ship them to me. I didn't know I had won the GG's until after getting the snakes settled in and I saw Chris' post on the internet. Then I cursed myself for not staying a couple more hours. The GG's would have made life a lot easier on the E. Brown and myself. The only problem I did find with the GG's was that, right out of the package, they didn't want to open fully after closing them. I opened and closed the jaws by hand several times and after a few minutes they were working perfectly.
There's not much I can add to Allen's review, except for my own appreciation of Dana and Midwest's commitment to making the safest and highest quality snake handling equipment. Keep up the good work.

I love Midwest, and have been more than satisfied with all there products, including the GG tongs, my only complaint is the weight. they are ballanced very well without a snake, but when you have a six foot eastern diamondback that doesnt want to move, the weight is a major down-point. Granted, a six foot edb is going to be hard to hand anyways, even my three foot prarie is a challenge... thanks to midwest for all they've done!

Hello!
I am Russell Adams, owner of "Rattlesnake Capture and Disposition Company" in San Diego. One of my first company purchases was the Gentle Giant Tong. This phenomenal tool has replaced my old snare pole as the preferred implement to quick, safe, and reliable retrieval of wild rattlesnakes. The local emergency departments are in the process of enlisting my services to their 911 calls, and I am abundantly grateful to Midwest for creating this uniquely efficient aid. From large snakes to yearlings, this tool is the best! Thank You!

From what I have read, the Gentle Giant Snake Tongs are the best on the market. I am just wanting snake tongs to be able to remove snakes from the property around my home, so I probably do not need the best snake tongs on the market, but at only a few more dollars than the standard Midwest snake tongs, I think I might as well just go with the best. Is there any reason not to?
Thanks for the right up and reconfirming my decision.
