Ok, so baby rattlers are born with only a button on the end of their tail meaning they are "clapping with one hand" so to speak and can't rattle. then they grow a new button every shed. does this mean i can assume that the ~7 inch long C.v.oreganus I found with only one button on his tail has not gone through his first shed since being born and therefore I don't have to worry about him eating right away? I know most snakes don't take food until after their first shed but i've never dealt with a snake that young before....i always go for established feeders when possible. thanks
