Hello,
Its been awhile since I've been back, but I'm glad I am.
I was wondering how can you get your family to let you keep snakes?
I'm the only one that likes reptiles and I'm not aloud to have snakes, how can I show them that I'm able to keep a copperhead or water moccosin or even non venomous snakes?
Thank you

Not to be rude but, if you live in your parents home you should go by their rulesYou will have plenty of time when you're on your own.

talk about resurect8ing an old post -- this is actualys omething i see an get asked alot not just about keepin hot snakes.
My advice is when you aproach the subject of what you would like to keep, aproach it in a mature educated manner. Ya know sorta like if you were wanting a job, you would present yourself, your exprence etc. If you have never owned a snake obviouslyno exprence hopwever that doesn't stop you from being able to educate yourself espiclay on specificly that you want to keep.
My parents were always suportive of critters i wanted to keep so long as i was matur about it an aproached things in a correct manner. Snakes were something my mom was terrified of so so long as it was kept outside an away from her it could be kept. That was her rule on snakes, anything else was prety much whatever i wanted so long as i could care for it.
If you step back an look at your age, think about where you will be in a year, or 5 will you still be in school? Do you have plans for colledge? all of that. Do you have a job atm? How will you purchess the snake, house it an feed it etc.
Though we neverknow exactly where or what we will be doing in a few years time it doesn;t hurt to plan ahead. an when it comes to snakes, it can be hard to do that after all, mom an dad maynot wanna care for your slythery compaion while your off to colledge if the colledge doesn't allow snakes in their dorms etc.
Take your time, an learn. Like what was said before you have plenty of time ahead of you. make good use of it an educate yourself ;)
