Hi,
I'm trying to gather as much information from as many people as I can about Blacktail Rattlesnakes. I want to get to know this species. I caught an adult Blacktail Rattlesnake in West Texas in July of 2010 and I've had it ever since. It won't accept any prey items that I've offered. I've offered mice and rats both dead and alive. I have him setup in a rack system with flexwatt heat tape. I have him on newspaper with a water bowl, nest box, and a lot of ventilation holes. Today I tried dipping the prey item in chicken broth and braining the prey, but still no results. Does anyone have any tricks or tips for me to try to get him eating?
Thanks,
Drew dpedwards08@yahoo.com
