Anyone know where I can find info. on their captive care? Chris, I believe you own one of these? (I saw a couple of pics. of one under the photo album on this site uploaded from you). What is it like to clean their cage? I've been told that everytime you goto clean their cages, they come right at you (with all cobras...a guy at midwestern informed me of that).
And what exact method do you use? Double hook or hook-and-tong?

I have found double hooking cobras to be very dangerous! They become highly aggitated and eratic. You really need to hook & tail them to keep them under control. Tongs have until recently had very few practical uses for those of us who do not wish to harm the snakes. The Gentle Giant Tongs are the only ones I'd use on anything other than a water bowl! Some cobras are very aggressive & hyper some are calm just like some people are nasty & some are not. Most animals respond well to gentle & respectful manipulation and learn that you won't harm them. Some just seem to know they can kill you and would like very much to try to do just that. I worked with a B&W spitter that could be free handled as easily as a red ratsnake & I've never had an Egyptian that didn't try to kill me in every interaction. The point is you never know whata snake will do, but you can have a good idea what they might be capable of.
