Hi everyone. Every time I catch a snake(venomous or non) I show all of my neighbors, friends. Some times I take them outside to sun and when a car comes down the road, they stop and I teach them a few things about snakes. I even take some down town and safely teach people about snakes. Recently I noticed(while road cruising) that people actually dodge the snake. Some people still run them over, but alot of people dont anymore. Actually I drove up the road a few days ago and in the right lane, there was a copperhead and three cars heading in its direction. All three cars dodged the snake and I got out and caught it. Also recently Ive noticed that the copperhead and timber rattlesnakes population is way up around my area. Has anyone had similar experiences?

That's great buddy. All we can do is educate and then maybe more people will dodge snakes instead of going out of the way to hit them. I still have some friends around here that say things like, "If I see a snake, it's a dead snake". Sometimes I have made people understand that they need not kill snakes and sometimes there is just no reasoning with them. Even though I can't convince everyone that you don't need to kill snakes, I feel that I have made a positive impression on some. That's why our group is so important. The group can do so much more than the individual if we are all on the same page, right?
