I live in Houston. When I go hunting in the Davey Crockett National Forest, I ocassionally "run" across a few snakes coming to, and from, my chosen hunting sites. While hunting, I am not actively persueing reptiles, I ocassionally encounter corals and coppers slithering across hiking/game trails. It is also curious to note that I have almost always encountered them from between 9-10a.m. I have NEVER seen a Canebrake, Timber, or Lousiania Milksnake in the wild. These are my personal "Holy Grails" among snake species in Texas. Happy herping and be safe!
