hi who would be the best type of people to ask for advice with reptiles and amphibians , it don t mater if there young or old but who would have the edge over most other fanatics . would it depend on what they have researched and what they know ? and when i say this i don t mean experiance. i mean shear knowledge what would be the best people to ask.

I am constantly reading books, publishings, articles, websites. And though I learn so much from all of that, nothing makes up for "hands on" experience. You can have all the book smarts in the world on a King Cobra, but still know nothing about interacting with the snake. Or how to get one in captivity to start eating rodents. Or how to read the body language of a 5ft monitor. Or any of the thousands of places a reptile keeper will find themselves in at one time or another. simply put, I read books for knowledge, I keep reptiles for the experience. Hope this helps, be safe and as always happy herping.
