I recently converted a broken 61" RCA TV into a LARGE cage for any future herps I get. Currently, I Have a 4 1/2-5' WC Baird's Rat and a 5' WC Texas Rat. I know there can be problems with feeding, but as general housing, would it be ok to house these snakes together?

If theres no other possible way you could possibly do it. My friend houses more than one species of rat snake together. There could be a problem but if you do house them together, watch them to see that there is no aggression between the two. And also put two different hide spots in the enclosure big enough for one snake only. Another thing I would do as far as feeding would be to feed them in seperate enclosures so they both dont try to claim the original enclosure as there own.Good luck.

Scott, i have kept a Gray and Black rat snake in the same cage together before and as long as i fead them in seperet inclosures they whare fine. Now if i tried to feed them in the same cage it was a all out battle for life if you know what i mean. So in my mind and vew it would work, just be sure not to feed them in the same cage with eachother. Good luck hope they get along the way my 2 WC rats did.......happy herping Wally

I had a well fed CORN SNAKE eat his cage mate (yes, they were fed outside of their enclosure). You never know. Accidents can and do happen.

Hey dont house them together. Yesterday I put two corn snakes together because I was cleaning out the little corns cage. I cleaned it out and after I was through (about 30 minutes later) the big corn had eaten the little corn.
