It eats regularly. I turn the thermostat in the house up to about 74 and I also use heat lights on the cage. I also have a fairly big water bowl in the cage that I change the water at least once a week. The reason I think he is sick is because yesterday I took him out on a hook and he blew a yellowish bubble out of his nose. Ive seen that happen before when I first caught a black rat snake. I think he did that because I fed the cottonmouth twice last week and I think when he was slumped over on the hook, a little of the digested food came up. I have a smaller cottonmouth in the same cage and it sheds just fine. Also the cottonmouth in question eats very well, I toss in a mouse and he takes it immediatly. Well....Thanks alot for all of the good advice. One more thing, If he doesnt shed, will it harm the snake???Thank you, Jeremy.

oh yeah, Im not sure about the humidity but I spray the cage down with a misting bottle about 2 or 3 times a day. I spray the bedding and there log and then I spray the sides of the cage so that little water droplets form all over the sides, then I lightly spray my snakes. I dont know what Id do if I lost my sweet cottonmouth. :(

My Red Diamond was having trouble shedding so I used the "Wet Cotton Pillow Case" mentioned by another member. I put him in the pillow case at 9 am yesterday. He stayed in the pillow case all day yesterday. At 9 pm last night I checked on him. He was starting his shed but had deficated all inside the bag. I removed him from the bag and cleaned the bag. Once cleaned I put him back in the bag till 6 am this morning. When I took him out of the bag this morning his shed was about 1/3 the way down his body. I held him as I put him back into his enclosure. Lightly letting him pull through my hands. His shed came off in my hands in one piece. This worked great!!

You have gotten some really good advice all around here.
As to, why your cotton may not be pulling the shed off itself, I would add the following.
Although there are more likely reasons. If you are keeping both snakes in the same enclosure or two enclosure really close to each other (i.e. two glass aquariums back to back) where they can see each other. One may feel too stressed by the presence of the other to really work at pulling it off. Molting can put them in a vulenrable position feeling like they may be attacked.
Some times isolation and seperation can go along way in helping with stress, reluctant feeding, etc.
Good luck

People often underestimate the problems that can be caused by the stress of being kept in the unnatural ways we keep our snakes. Cottonmouths eat other snakes. If one or the other is larger than its neighbor, a high stress situation may be present that you are not even aware of. I heard today of a Cottonmouth biting the head of and killing a cagemate with which it had shared its enclosure for several years.

Maybe I was unclear in my post as I just gave credit to another member for his approach to a shedding problem.
My Red Diamond is the only reptile I have. He is caged in a large enclose 36"x24"x24" alone with me in my office. He is very active and very passive toward humans. He really is a beautiful snake. He is 36" long, has 6 rattles and the button. He is a little thin as he is still a juvenile.
I was having a problem with him starting his shed. His skin was getting dry after his eyes had cleared back up. I used the wet pillowcase recommendation stated above. It worked like a champ!
Thanks all!
