yes i was wanting to see if anybody out there new the laws for keeping hot herps in southdakota i live near rapid city but not in the city it's a small town called Box Elder

contact terry phillips @ the reptile gardens hes a pretty sharp guy, and im sure he will fill you in
id also like to add that he has some nice animals but mine are nicer n prettier thank you

Hi Chris, well in the state of South Dakota, you DO NOT need a permit for exotic hots, but I think you need a fishing license for the native hots. Now these laws might be different per county. But I am not 100% sure about the counties, but I am sure about the state laws. Hope this helps you. Bryan

yeah i v heard alot about him and he seems like a very nice guy it's just the reptile gardes is closed for the winter and i have no contact i wouldn't mind meeting him myself

I have been out of town,
SD. does not have any state restrictions, other than notifying the state veterinarian.
However, Box Elder is in Pennington County and they have restrictions against.
