Hey everyone,
Well, here I am sitting in western Iraq thinking about getting back into the hobby, so I thought I'd drop in here and see what was going on. I see I've been gone far too long as I don't recognize anyone's handle.
So, for those I haven't met, my name's Roger, I'm a US Marine currently not keeping anything. I used to keep some Aspielaps scutatus and a Naja kaouthia.
Anyways, I'm going to not be such a stranger here. Catch you all later.

To the forum that is. I love the line about the Walmarts not being in Iraq. Hope all is going well for you there. Thanks for your patriotism and we look foward to your safe return.

Glad to have you back. I remember you but haven't seen you post in a year or so. Keep up the good work and hope to have you home soon. Hope you have some more down time to write and maybe herp a little.
Get any cool herps in Iraq. Probably not much but good luck anyway.

No herping over the winter. We did find a lot of geckos and scorpians up at Al Qaim in Sept. though. It's too damned cold right now, it gets down to about freezing every night and only into the 50s most days.
I'm going to hopefully get to do some herping with Dr Wuster since I'll be studying law/social policy at the same uni. But probably no herp keeping for me until I get back to the states. I want a nice big walk-in style place where I can put a few Eyelash Vipers and a nice big desert enclosure for a Horned Viper.

Hey Roger, good to see you are okay in Iraq. From one leatherneck to another, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I served with 2/8 out of Camp Lejeune in 1995-1999. Almost got deployed to Bosnia when all that crap was going on. Had the 0311 MOS, still hate camping even to this day.. LOL... Had a handful of friends go over there to Iraq during the shock and awe phase. Anyways, keep your head down and let us know when you get back to the states. Thanks for everyhting you are doing, and be sure to go to your local VA for benefits when you get out. Semper Fi.. Bryan

Hi Roger
when your in Bangor let me know I'm only 1hrs drive away. Should be able to get you a visit to the Liverpool school of Tropical Medicine or even Wolfgang can, he's there often enough. Or visit mine.
