Hey everyone, just a quick question for anyone who can answer. Has anyone on here heard of the "field herpotologist" postition(s) that are advertised in Reptiles magazine on occasion? Its a company that hires someone as a "contractor" to do snake removal in certain states/ares..according to demand..etc.
My question is..has anyone done this for this company..or know anyone who has? I am wondering if you actually make any money and if its BS or a descent gig..? Anyone with info...let me know. Thanks everyone!! Their url is www.herpers.org

I saw the same web address in the back of Reptiles this month and wondered the same thing. When I looked at their website it did not look good though. I find it questionable that somebody would pay a minimum fee of $50 to their company for the removal of a snake from their property. The sad fact is most people would rather just kill it and keep the money from my experience. If you look at a lot of critter control type companies they make their money by making changes or repairs to homes to keep the animals out and not by charging for their removal. I could be wrong here though but my impression from looking at the website is that you might get called by them about once a year for work if that.
