I think all animals need some rights. I think if you are going to fish. Then keep it and eat it. If you don't then that is wasteing a life. After being hooked most die from lost of blood or disfigurement.

It seems to me that the most logical step in your situation would be to find an appropriate local zoo to house your collection. I'm sure that you would be given credit for your donation. You would also have the pleasure of being able to see your favourite reptiles on a regular basis and may be given the chance to volunteer your expertise at the zoo. I am from Canada, and we do not have many venomous snakes, so going to a zoo is a great chance to see them. This is the very least you can do to protect the animals that you have. It would be a shame to see them destroyed because of a by-law.

I can tell you dont fish much Phillip. If you have to cut your line because a hook is to deep in the fish's mouth, the hook will rust out in 3 days. Plus the hole in the mouth heals quickly also. You dont know DAMN thing. "Betta Ask ya Momma"

BassMasters researched this issue and found that mortality rate of fish caught and "deeply hooked" is very low < 10%. You just cut the line as close to the hook and let the fish go.. It will rust out and heal, not harm done.
Fishermen routinely catch fish that have been caught many times before proving that it reall is not a big deal of mortality to this fish.

I've read a lot of dumb things here, and there have been a lot of things said that have nothing to do with the question posed.
My 2 cents on this.......to question poster about "what do I do with my animals?". I say, first you should have looked into whether it was legal or not to keep the animals you have. Im not preaching, just making folks aware of the logical thing to have done so as to prevent this pickle in the first place.
Now, I'd suggest you network within the friends that you trust to get rid of your animals to people who will care for them. Whether you get money for them or not is up to you and how quickly you want to get rid of them.
Good luck. The last we all want here is to see the animals destroyed, but we also want to see them taken care of properly, in a state where they are legal.

The question was hypothetical, the "illeagal" snakes do not exist,I was merely gauging your reactions to see where your priorities lie. I'm surprised to see some of your ignorance for law enforcement personnel, and local zoos, please. Law enforcement agencies could care less about the possible danger to the public or the damage to local ecosystems, they are only out to make money, and most zoos will not take venomous animals, and if they did, they would still turn you in. I'm surprised noone offered to take the "illeagals" off my hands, but thanks anyway.
