This is no big deal, but in the same areas up here, I am finding different variations of the Timber rattlesnake. I find the "canebrake" phase that look identical to the ones found in extreme south Georgia, then at the same spots I find them that look like this http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y252/bush_viper17/101_0346.jpg
I find some in between. One brown phase. My friends said that they found one even darker than the one in the photo. I have heard that Georgia DNR releases horridus into the wild up here. Does anyone know if this is true? I heard that the release 2000 two of the mountains in my area and some more in a place known as the Ballgrounds. The old pawn shops have skins that look like I would expect one to look from around here, and all of the ones in the pawn shops look the same but out here now, I am finding alot of different variations.

Very typical for horridus in the upper piedmont and foothills and east side of the blueridge south of the Jocassee Gorge to be varidable and have all color morphs.
