Hello everyone. The Wisconsin state legislature just passed SB 307. This when signed into law by the governor will give the DNR almost unbridled right to control native and non-native species of wildlife. It is imperative that you contact our governor and tell him to veto this bill. The future of our passion is in his hands. We all know that the DNR has made several mistakes in their dealings with nature in the past. Now they are going to see what they can do with reptiles. I know very few DNR personnel who have any experience with snakes lizards and amphibians who will now be in a position to determine if the animals I keep pose a threat to native species or to human health. If they feel that is the case they do not need to obtain a warrent but have the right to enter my house and cite me for keeping my reptiles. They can then confiscate them and force me to defend myself in court at great expense. All this time my animals will be in their care and knowing how experienced they must be with reptile husbandry I am sure my reptiles will receive the best of care (ya right). Please contact the governor and demand he veto this bill. It is SB 307 The exotic wildlife bill. Thank you for your help. Sorry if this is not the right place to post this but we need your help.
