Hi, I would like to know if when a gaboon viper bites another gaboon viper, is he going to die of the venoum and the same for southern copperheads cause I know when a puff adder bites another one he doesn't die of the venom?

Hi,
A friend of mine had a male Gabby kill his female cage-mate in a feeding accident. The same happened to him with a pair of Rock Rattlesnakes.
While this sort of thing doesn't happen often, it certainly can. Except when breeding, it is wisest to keep snakes seperate. I currently have a Puff and a Bitis X living together, but I seperate them for feeding.
Many Agkistrodon such as Coppers and especally Cottons are very opportunistic feeders and are not above a little canniblism.
As to the venom of Gaboons, among other components it contains cardiotoxins and myotoxins. The same for Puffs. I'm sure a good envenomation would kill the snake. Coppers are fairly mild, relitivly speaking. The chances of a snake's recovery from a same-species bite are much better.
luck,
f
