Yes, They can be cannabalistic. I did not believe it either till I saw it with my own eyes in 1974/75.
My male Columbian Red Tail was a normal healthy snake that was about 6+ feet long. I was contacted by a local couple that bought a Red Tail (female)about the same length but this animal had not eaten for a year and was very thin. I took the animal in and after a few weeks in with my male had adjusted nicely and was feeding like a pig. I contacted the couple and told them that it was feeding well but wanted it to gain somemore weight before I gave them the snake back. This was not a problem for them.
Well after a few more weeks of feeding I entered my snake room to find them copulating, boy I was excited and called the couple and told them the news. The next morning I looked in on them but there was only MY SNAKE in the enclosure!! I took a closer look and the gut of my male was very distended and had bulges are certain intervals, sure enough his devoured the Female!!
I took him outside for a picture (which I have somewhere) with me holding it up to show the distended belly. Shortly I had more than I bargained for when he regurgitated the female red tail.
No question about it, they are Cannabalistic!
If I didn't have the pictures I'm sure the couple would have never believed me.
Cheers!
Al

ive read all over the place that copperheads are cannabals, i dont think this is true, i keep all of mine in pairs and have no problems at all out of them. i am careful at feeding time however. cottonmouths, thats another story, my conanti will without a doubt eat a snake.

Stop feeding those pairs of copperheads mice for a few months and see what happens. If they get hungry enough they will eat each other.
