Anyone interested in herping in the Georgia, South Carolina or North Florida area? Herping alone is getting boring and potetially dangerous. I sometimes take my 16 year old son when he is not in school but would love a partner to take some trips with.

I am in SE GA, Bwk, area and haven't been at all this year. Like you, I get bored going alone, so I my hunt time isn't what it should be.
If you are in this area, drop me a line at
fischefather@yahoo.com. Let me know when and we can do this.

I am doing research here in Marion County,South Carolina. I am doing a herpetofauna survey at the Wildlife Refuge here. It is about 53 acres of mixed hardwood swampland with little elevated areas. I have two drift fences and several funnel traps along those fences. You can contact me if you are ever in the area. My profile gives my e-mail. I think I have one of my research pictures on the photos section under field photos. I posted it recently so it is probably on the last page. I don't like going alone much either, but for the research (and grade)I have to go.

If your ever going to be around NE GA drop me a line. I usually go by myself, which is why I don't go as much as I used too.(being married with children also might have something to do with it)But fortunately I do some good herpin right on my property. In fact yesterday I went down by the beaver pond/swamp and caught a what I believe is a redbelly watersnake(Nerodia e. erythrogaster). The 2 feild guides I have say I'm a little too far north for their range but I'm pretty sure thats what it is.I've never seen a snake that could read a map anyways!LOL We were haveing company over yesterday evening so I'll check it out better today to be sure.Marty
