what do you do if there are no vets in the area that will handle hots is there a way you can do minor stuff on your own like removing eye caps and such on crotalus viridis

Duct tape works great! Prevention is the best fix: raise the humidity in the cage at the end of the opaque period.

I prefer to use masking tape, I was always afraid duct tape would be a little too sticky.Masking tape has worked great for me many times.Just personal preferance I guess.Marty

I never had a snake that didn`t shed it`s eye caps. Lucky me... :) At least I know what to do in the unfortunate case that it happens. Take care y`all.

If its been on awhile it will be much harder to get off. Sometimes it will come off with the next shed but most of the time you will end up with layers of eye caps. I got a ball in trade once with 4-5 eye caps on it.
