depends on the snake as to what damage can be done....sure, certan bites could kill the baby, others could do nothing.......science still hasn't figured out exactly what does and doesn't affect a fetus and that's why they recommend against anything foreign for the most part.....some will give you some basic medicines while pregnant and others want......my first kid has mild cerebral palsy because of what dylantin did to her, so things can and do affect the fetus....
i'm sure they'd all recommend against being snake bitten though ;)

If the lady is envenomted, there is a risk to the fetus. It has been well documented where fetus have been lost during envenomation, more so with snakes that effect coagulation/heamolysis etc the placenta is a highy vascular organ. This tends to bleed heavely and ends up peeling away from yhe uterus. Unfortunately when ever a pregnant female becomes severly ill her natural resources will try every thing to protect her while the fetus is in second place. Hope this explains a little.
