We saw dead alligators," said James Swanson, a rescue crew member trained as a swimmer. "We saw four of them, belly up. If the alligators can't survive in their own waters, you know it was bad."

not only alligators are a problem but just think about the remnant population of eastern diamondbacks in the southeastern louisiana region. If gators were victims then this biologically high-food chain species might of perished from the flood. Same goes for canebrake, copperhead, and western pigs. What a shame, hopefully zoos and captive breeding could help this problem!
