I was 5 and it is the only memory I have from that age that I can recall exactly. At the time we lived in Waycross and close to my home was a railroad that had a creek under it I commonly played around it exploring putting pennies on the track ect. but one day I was walking down to the waters edge and out of the water came this huge big bold black snake (cotton mouth) but at the time I didnt know what it was, any way I watched the snake for a minute or two thinking how amazing this animal is and how the snake seemed to have a presence about it well after a few minutes I decided to catch it there were some canes close by and I went to cut a long one down and while I was doing that somebody must have seen me and started to yell at me well fear of being in trouble caused me to run home but I was hooked ever sense about a month later that we had a book fair at my school and I bought 3 small snake books (all they had)and wore them out. But I will say I have never put a snake in my mouth :-)
