This was in the Arizona Daily Star. It again cry's out Venomous Snake keepers/collectors need to carry and Epi-Pen with them when they are around Venomous Snakes. It was brought to my attention by a friend in Europe that was friends with Markus. My sincere condolences to his family & friends.

A 35-year-old German man visiting southern Arizona died at a Tucson hospital Wednesday night from a rattlesnake bite he suffered over the weekend, Tucson police reported today.
Marcus Wolf was admitted to a Willcox hospital after he was bitten Sunday, Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kerry Fuller said today, adding she did not know where Wolf was when he the incident happened.
Wolf went into anaphylactic shock and was brought by ambulance to Tucson Medical Center, where he died late Wednesday.
A friend contacted his parents in Germany and they were in Tucson when Wolf died, Fuller said. The family will take him home for burial.

Al: Not only would an Epi-Pen be a great addition to every reptile keepers first aid kit, but to anybodys first aid kit.
Just the other day, I got into a nest of yellow jacket bees when bushhogging brush. I recieved over 20 stings. Fortunatly, there was only a local reaction. But in times past, I have been stung over 120 times, and 90 times, by yellow jackets, and as a honey bee keeper, I occasionaly get stung, especially when capturing wild honey bee hives.
From what I understand about venom sensitivity, all these past stings could make me more sensitive to bee stings, and some day, a single sting could cause a severe allergic reaction. It would be good if I had a Epi-Pen handy just in case, and am working on getting a couple for my first aid kit.
Also, from my past experience as a Scout Master, we had some kids that were supposed to carry Epi-Pens at all times, as they were severely allergic to stings. Quite often, these kids would forget to bring the Epi-Pens on camping trips with them. Fortunatly, we never had a problem with one of these kids getting stung, but if they had, we would have had a major problem, that could have been helped if someone had kept a Epi-Pen in their first aid kit.
Best Regards JohnZ

John:
Good point! I really don't like messing with Hornets, here's a story.
I was at a Timber Rattlesnakes den-site working on collecting and tagging for a research project. There were Rattlers everywhere, 50+ that I could see and many more I could not, no lie. I fliped a fallen log to find a nest of very pissed off White faced Hornets. I tore ass throught the den-site at full speed not even worrying about the Rattlers. Getting away from those Hornets was all that mattered.

Interesting point of note - after you've "fired" the Epi-pen and delivered the .3cc of Epi intramuscularly, HYPOTHETICALLY, you could disassemble the Epi-pen and use the remaining .7cc in 2 increments of .35cc -- IF YOU ABSOLUTELY HAD TO. If it were me, I'd give it in subcutaneous injections (skin popping). But hey, you didn't hear that from me because I would never suggest that anyone do such a thing.

EpiPen is called Anapen in Sweden now.
EpiPen and Anapen is the same thing but with different price and different companies behind them.
