I recently got a trio of really nice cb05 wagler's vipers. The females took pinkies no prob and are doing great. The male however won't take ANYTHING, pinks, frogs, or lizards. I have had another finiky male in the past, but eventually got him doing great with much patience. I am worried that this little guy won't come around and was just wondering if anyone has personal experience that has worked for them, or access to tiny frogs(my local supply has disappeared until spring).
Thanks
Kris

Are you feeding live of f/t as this would be very useful to know as I have had alot of trouble recently with a western hognose that would not touch anything even if I tried to impart some movement he went crazy, So I tried a freshly killed chisk leg and left it in his viv. for an hour in complete quiet, and as has happened before he had eaten it, this is not a lone case as several of my non venomous snakes have responded to this before, I hope you find a suitable prey source that is accepted by him this is just my own experience with my own snakes all of which apart from the WHN are not venomous. hope it may help best wishes Keyz,

Stay away from frogs they may be parasite problems. I had this prblems with baby white lip vipers. Get a 2x6x2 inch piece of foam, hook the little boy and put him on the carpet. Take the foam amd pin him with it behind the head, take small forceps and get a pink head in his mouth deep. Remove hand from foam and he should take the pink head. When done eating hook and put back in cage. Stay frozen while he eats so he won't try and spit the food. Tip: when on hook be ready to pin when put on floor.
The other way to try would be do a pink or pink head in the cage under infared light at night. Don't turn lights on other than the IR light so he believes its night still the IR will not change light cycles for him.
Be safe and best of luck.
