I think that it is time for me to start back keeping hots and one that I have my eye on is the Black Pakistan Cobra(Naja naja karachiensis)mainly what I was wondering is if it is alot like Naja naja naja especialy the bite and anti venom all info would be good.

			hi shane,
dont worry i believe the anti venin should work for this subspecies.. i hav worked with this species in the past and the bihaviour also resembles the naja naja. if u r comfortable around cobras then this one should b a piece of cake. just curious frm where will u get the specimen. local breeder or inport frm pakistan??
 best of luck

Local breeder, is were I would get the snake from. Yes, I am pretty comfortable around corbras but havnt owned one I have just worked with them and other elapids like Naja melanoleuca, Naja kaouthia, Naja nigricollis, and one mamba Dendroaspis viridis. But I hvnt kept any hot for quite some time that is why I am looking to buy a very young snake. I just want to get all the info that I can be for making the purchase.

 Thank you.

Black Pakistani specimens of Naja naja represent one point of a spectrum that is gradual in transition. Therefore, none of the former subspecies (i.e. N. n. karachiensis, N. n. polyocellata) are currently recognized.

Just so you know, Shane, a herper friend of mine did lose a finger to a blackpak's bite sometime ago. As with any venomous snake, be on your guard.

			Thanks TE and Bill,
The main thing is I want to know how to treat a potential bite from this snake, should I use a naja naja bite protocol or does it have one of its own. Trust me guys I don’t plan to go into this blind I believe in doing the appropriate research before acquiring the animal or I should say if I acquire the snake. I am still un for sure. So no plans are set in stone, just inquiries for now. Thank you
