do scales grow back?

i recently got a snake from reptile rescue that had a heat lamp fall on him and burn him, i can treat the burns and mend the bones but does anybody know if the bald burnt spot on the snake will grow scales again or will it stay bald?

Chris, the answer is Yes and No, or Sometimes but Not Always. It really depends on how deeply the tissues are damaged by the burn, and every case is different. Each time the snake sheds, the area will try to heal itself, and some parts of it will probably grow new scales and repair themselves, however, the whole area will probably not heal completly. You will still see some scarring and some area where the scales just will not grow back.
