Does anyone know of other companies that make dependable hooks other than midwest?? I cant find any others that make a hook comparable to midwest. Bryan

Bryan, call the folks at Furmont and talk with them.

Their online site is not fancy, but they make some of the best hooks you can buy.
Their hooks are used by over 700 zoos, museums, and institutions around the world. They have been in business for over 40 years.

Yes Furmont makes the "original" hooks for snakes. Also ACE Capture equipment makes some great products as well.

I go mine from beanfarm.com and have had no complaints (except that people steal them). However, I've never seen a commercially produced "normal" hook that I particularly disliked.

I personally just like how lightweight Midwest hooks are, the ones with the aluminum inserts. I've talked about this before, but I just think that Midwest does a better job of supplying the venomous community than anyone else. That's why I'm in their ads in Reptiles magazine - I've been saying that for years.
