Does anyone know of any petshops that sell California Newts? I had one a loooooong time ago and I like it but I haven't seen any for sale since I remembered it.

Hello,
I believe the California Newt is now protected. That is probably the reason the pet stores are not loaded with them. Check the California DNR page to verify the protection on the specie.

I was afraid that would be the case. They are personable newts. It seems like someone in Florida would be able to breed them up and sell them.
