Reminded me of a cross between MTV's Wild Boys and that idiot (IMO) Austen Stevens "Snakemaster" but with a slightly scientific slant.

I caught a rebroadcast of the Austin Stevens show where he goes hunting the elusive king cobra last night and noted that while he is tailing a large Russell's viper he is . . . barefoot in the woods! Yes!! A brilliant example there.

I thought it was good, but felt that there was alot of hype about "new" sub species. He claimed 20 new id's by himself, but until the show aired, I had never heard of him. The skinks being different patterns, could possibly be just color variations.
Any one have any thoughts on the viper they found? How about the size of that water monitor?

i agree with Paul on this one. i liked the show because it involved reptiles but it seemed like every 5 minutes they were talking about a "possible new species" when in reality most of the specimens they found were probably just color/locale variations. and they even kept saying how they thought the tioman pit viper was so unique when it looked to me like any of the other arborial vipers found in that part of the world (white lips, popes, hagens, etc.). now im certainly no expert, nor do i claim to be, but these are just my personal thoughts on the show.
