Hey guys check the KS forums. there is apparently a monocle loose, if anyone is near this guy i would suggest maybe a free reptile capture for him, before we all hear the repercussions. It is on the venomous as well as many other forums. appreciate it,

The repercussions are already in the works. He made sure that his post was not only seen by the venomous keeping community, but also by anyone interested in catching reptiles of any kind by posting his tripe on the KS Field Collecting Forum. I have to wonder if I am the only one to notice that "Terrance" has not responded to any questions or inputs on any of the forums where he posted his astounding snake escape after a WHOLE YEAR'S experience keeping it?
As usual it is the majority (of safe keepers) who will pay for the carelessness of an individual instead of anyone holding the individual accountable for their own actions. I would volunteer to go collect the cobra if it was near me. But only with the police there to issue citations for criminal negligence and reckless endangerment! This person, specifically, is why states such as Florida require 1,000 hours experience BEFORE issuing a permit. And, I for one, think that you have to be blind not to see the need for such permitting requirements.
NOT high fees, high standards!

I really wish other states could be as accepting as FL reguarding this. Most have no laws or ban outwrite. I am not judgin the guy, as we all started somewhere, and the majority probably have all made mistakes, but its not how you fall, its how you get back up. I noticed he kinda quited down too, maybe a shitty joke? oh well, i am tryin to look out for mine, I have had enough problems defending keepers when jackasses let things like this happen. As i stated earlier, it is not hard to crush a community this small with governmental support, again we are not the equine industry. hope the negative reprocussions are minimal, cya karl,

I cant even imagine whats going to come of this. I totally agree with Karl, anyone who loses a hot needs to be prosecuted and used as an example to send a message to legal hobbist and the community, that it wont be tolerated, there is no excuse at all...if you keep your animals in a snake proof room then an escape from the cage is not a problem and if you feel you cant set up a room...reconsider owning venomous...you have to have backups for your backups with hots..if the post is legit then there will definatly be a price to pay for all the local hobbist in the area. My husband has maintained his Fl license for nearly 8 years and actually likes the system that is set up, its a hassel to get started into hots in Fl but maybe it should be...we now live in pa and the laws are quite lax to say the least which worries us more than having to pay our permit fee and passing a couple of inspections a year...its better than a total ban which is comming to many areas...

I agree the guy must be an idiot or just took his snake for granted, but in any case the best way to find a lost hot is to get a cat;If that snake was lost in an apartment then there should be no way out and a CAT would pick it up in one day. I wonder if he had a locked cage and just forgot or did he have it in a basic aquarium with no locking devise.
