Renewing venomous reptile license in Florida prob?

In 1993 I received my first Venomous reptile license. I carried it continuously for 5 years. I called Florida Game last week and was told they went through a bunch of changes and I guess a new agency took over.
My first call was to a lady who seemed to not have a clue of what was going on and told me to hold a few times. (I guess well she asked someone next to her) She told me I would have to reapply like it was my first time. I told her that I had a license through the state 10 years ago and shouldn't I be in the system. That is when she told me of the changes...
I called back because after talking with her I was really confused. I talked to what I think was a supervisor and she told me to write renewal on my application.
Another member here told me Florida may or may not renew my application because of the changes in 1998.
I'm just not sure what to expect. If this was my first application I would understand but being licensed before and providing proof (Past license) I don't understand.
I've been out of the loop for 10 years as I stated before and am trying to catch up on laws and changes through out the community. Being out of the loop doesn't mean I forgot how serious and dangerous these animals are. I've had FGFWFC drop by one year to just check out my setup. It was no big deal and he went on his way. I never been fined or had my license taken away. Am I worried? A little I guess, I love my snakes with a passion and this is really something I have missed for the past 10 years. Army and other reasons kept me out of the hobby but now I am back...

Call back and ask to speak with Captain John West, head of Investigations, at the Tallahassee headquarters. He will glady answer your questions correctly.

Just an update...
Cpt. West is the man to talk with. Each time I called he was very polite and helpful in so many ways.
I had my facility inspection 9 days ago and today I was told my application was approved and all is good till Aug 15th 2007. I should get it in a day or so.
