Last week, I went to Indiana and visited this one reptile store. They had one venomous snake for sale and it was called a false egyptian cobra. I had never heard or seen that snake anywhere before. I went on the internet to find answers, but it only had information on a false water cobra or an egyptian cobra. My question is if this snake is a kind of breeding morph of the egyptian cobra or is it a completely different kind of venomous snake?

Completely different, rear-fanged snake. I think they are Malpolon moilensis, but not 100% positive.

TJ is correct the False Egyptian Cobra and False Water Cobra are the same snake, just being used with a different "common name" they are rear-fanged venomous snakes in the Hydrodynastes genus. This is the site I found on them http://www.snakemuseum.com/cobra.htm
There is next to no information about their venom, but I've heard that it mainly affects frogs and lizards. Hope this helps.

False water cobras are not the same as false Egyptian cobras. FWCs or Hydronastes gigas occur in South America. Malpolon moilensis are found in Asia (middle east particularly Arabia according to Schmidt) and parts of Africa. They are Geographically and taxonomically different snakes. Confusion is common with those obscure opisthoglyphs (rear fanged) snakes especially when using “common names”

maybe I was misunderstood, I have seen a few people refer to the false Water Cobra as "false egyptian cobra" which ofcourse is wrong, they aren't from africa, they are from South America.
I was merely giving info on the false water cobra, trying to clear up the confusion....
