more rattlesnake ID questions.....help me

ok...the snake was traded to me as a western from the arizona area i think...not sure....from what i read, the red diamondback isnt native to that area but the mojave and western are...along with others but the snakes coloring is identical to pics of young red diamonds i have seen and even if its not one it looks more like a mojave than any western i have been able to find pics of....a lot of tan on it, especially on the tail and the diamonds are reddish brown with dark outlines with a few white scales on their perimeter...if someone can tell me something...then help me...i cant get an accurate count of the row of scales(wls967) cuz its so small and is always moving around when startled...who knows..it would be a nice surprise

ditto, i did a scale count on an 8 inch northern water one time. just immobilize the head and go for it. AFG says scale count is 25 for the mohave. bring it with you sunday and we'll have a look.

I just wanted you to know that if it is indeed from AZ it is almost without a doubt a WDB. I have seen many "red phase" atrox and VERY FEW even slightly red scutes.
But like they said do a scale count
