dumb question about air travel and hots......

i haven't done a lot of air travel and none since 9/11 and was wondering something....if i were to fly to the SC venomous show in columbia and buy something to bring back(and not smuggle anything), what would i be in for and would it be possible...would i just be able to secure it and them put it in cargo or what....im not up for any full body cavity searches and don't want it to be a huge deal...but i dunno anything about it...would i have to build a box to take or anything goofy like that and what all is required to purchase a venomous reptile...just some id or is it like buying alcohol...if they think your old enough then its just up to them...

I don't actually know the answer to your question but I do know that people who are quite experienced in keeping and shipping hots will be flying in from out west and are not planning on buying anything BECAUSE they are flying. I would say, contact your airline and ask them ahead of time to avoid any nasty surprises. As for ages and vendors, I believe that is up to the individual vendor.

I always shipped via Delta, but I hear that they've tightened their restrictions. I remember being told that Northwest was a good shipper....but post 9/11 who knows what kind of crazy regulations they've come up with.
