well A.p.p have vary light face markings and leucostoma is almost solid black in some locals..
A.p.p also retain most of there pattern while leucostoma are most likely to be as dark as cottonmouths come....
look at the photo album to your left for more..
yes they can interbreed but if they do so in the wild is up to them....there ranges do touch so they can...
leucostoma is soon to be removed from piscivorus into its own species do to DNA testing in case you wanted to know but they will always be a piscivorus to me!
later,

From what i understand DNA links them more to Cantils than it does to other cotton ssp (fl and easterns). They tend to be midrange in size as well, with Fl cottons being the largest. My male is light brown with almost a conati face, also a little stouter than easterns i've kept.

Hey Jared,
Im curious, is this Western you have the one that came from VV? If so, I am suspect to that being a Western. Ill drop ya a line today about it as well as a reply I owe ya.
In the mean time, check out the Crotalid photo album on this site. I belive there is a pic posted of a cotton which looks identical to yours(if we are thinking of the same animal).
Talk to ya soon!
Peace,
J
