I was just curious to see if anyone knows about the McMahoon's Viper. I once saw a picture of it in a book all it said was that very little is know about this snake. I want to know the LD50 and how destructive the venom might be on an animal. I would also like to know the disposition of this snake. Any information is great. Thanks.

John, there is a fair amount of information on McMahon`s Viper at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eristicophis
Also, if you search Google Images, there are several photos and range maps.
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-Address&rlz=1I7GGLJ&resnum=0&q=Mcmahon's+Viper&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi
Apparently, this snake has a prehensile tail that it uses to help it climb up into small shrubs.
As far as LD50 of the venom, not sure about that, however, I did find a reference that stated "highly hemotoxic, causing great pain and tissue damage."
Hope this helps.
Best Regards JohnZ
