Wanted to see if any of you guys would share stories about finding your favorite snake? Venomous or not.Also include your favorite snake hunting destination if you have one.

Costa Rica, specifically the Osa Peninsula. Nothing like finding Bothriechis schlegelii on a vine, or a coiled Bothrops asper along a creek bed.

COSTA RICA, on the Osa, with senior Switalski!
However, Jaco was just as (or more) productive than the Osa.
Ahem. All kidding aside.....CR is pretty frickin' sweet.
Hey, Joey......I'm thinkin' SA will be just as good when we get there.
BTW...I'll let you know how Ecuador is in January.

I would have to say hunting the "chennai" with the Irula tribesman in southeastern India. Wearing only sandals and carrying a long pipe, they would walk the rows of brush that seperate the agricultural fields, and pull Russell's vipers out of the thickets. Then we left and went to a large sandy open area adjacent to the beach and they dug spectacled cobras out of rat holes. Watching them use a button-up shirt to secure a Russell's viper was pretty interesting - I kept my distance. ;-)

Finding & photographing B. schlegelli (gold phase) in Costa Rica was memorable. I also have some fond memories of diamondbacks , cottonmouths, corals & even pygmies here in Florida.
Collecting desert iguanas in the Anza Borrego desert with Bob Applegate was a gas. That was back before Swampy was born.
