PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- Ohlen Rimes hobbles on crutches just days after a snake bit him twice on his foot. It happened in his backyard in Bostwick.
His wife, Brenda heard some commotion. "My son yelled, 'Momma, Ohlen got bit by a pigmy rattler! Get him to the hospital!'"
With her husband in the passenger seat, Brenda put on her flashing lights, honked her horn and started speeding to the Putnam Community Medical Center.
On the way, she drove right by a Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy who clocked her going 70 miles-per-hour in a 45 miles-per-hour area. The deputy turned on his lights and siren -- but Brenda didn't stop.

I guess there are some emergency’s that time is not on your side and I guess as Dr. Sean Bush says, "time is tissue" but come on. Get a police escort and be legal. No need to put others in danger as this lady did. Fortunately no one was hurt.

They need to ticket her for all of her infractions.
As soon as the cop started chasing her, she could have easily pulled over and asked for a police escort to the hospital.
It was not right for her to endanger others even if Olin was bitten by a snake. Especially, a Pygmy Rattlesnake.

I don't entirely agree for a couple of reasons.
1) She probably didn't know what kind of snake it was or probably much else about snakes. She just had her husband screaming "Oh, it burns!"
2) The cop probably wouldn't know either.
3) Most places the cop is NOT going ot give her an escort. At best he's going to order her to stay there and wait for an ambulance. In a case like this where he insited on arresting her first even after she pulled into the hopsital, I expect it would have been much worse...like making the guy sit there for 15 minutes before calling the ambulance that they would then have to wait for.
4) As for her claim that the cop is lying about her running someone off the road... She certainly could have been in too much of a panic to notice, but I've had a cop pull that on me before. There was no question that she was lying, she just wanted to tack something on. I was on a motorcyle and she claimed I ran someone off the road(!) and fled from her. I did neither and never heard either claim until we were in court. But of course when it's your word against a cop and no witnesses...
