Are you all still seeing reptiles moving in Florida? I have a cousin on my dads side that has a cousin from his moms side that lives in Palmano Fl (I think that is how to spell it?) anyways he sent us a pic of a 12 ft Burm he found crawling through his yard, and he has reported seeing Cottons and Pygs around his home, and that was last week that we got the report! But here in good ole WV I have only came across a few D.O.A Black Rats and a few D.O.A Racers, when it is raining I find toads and frogs, which my Eastern Hognose thanks me for the toads!! anyways let us know if anybody anywhere else is still seeing reps in the wild, I hate winter time when I can't go herping unless I go to a darn pet store.

We are still seeing snakes here in NC. In the last 2 weeks, I have seen several. They are still out and about.

Shawn, even though it is rapidly getting too cold for herps here in N. Georgia, I still see a few anole lizards and fense lizards every day. Also, saw a garter snake out at one in the afternoon last week, and a box turtle trying to cross the road about the same time. Soon they will be gone for the winter.

Two female Crotalus horridus oct 21,2007 1200.
One was heading to the den and the other was sunning. Both are North Georgia local.

Removed another black rat snake from the horse barn where my wife rides in OKC this week. Cooler at night, but still 70 or so in day. Getting his last mouse before denning I expect, was a little sluggish but happy to be released into the brush outside.

Up in PA, despite the warm weather, I had the worst spotting record that I've ever had for a fall denning season. Absolute disaster. Only two horridus and a couple of unknown audibles over the course of 8 visits. This at dens that normally produce 10 to 30 sitings per visit during peak season. I had a couple of racers who were in way early, no black rats and no copperheads. I normally log 80 to 100 horridus sitings during a fall or spring season, not counting the repeats that often add upwards of 50% to the total.
Spring was rather weird also. These dens are normally 90% yellow phase and 10% black. I've had years when I haven't spotted a single black. This spring, however, 60% of my sitings were black phase. The numbers were normal, but the mix was hopelessly skewed.
