I saw this snake near my apartment on Halloween night in Savannah, Ga. It was crawling across the street from a marshy area. There was a pond on the side it was crawling too, but I didn't stick around long enough to see if that is where I went. I looked online, and have narrowed it down to either a Copperhead, or a Cottonmouth. Maybe I am completely wrong, but I just want to know what crawled in front of us.
It's on the last page in the "identify this snake" album.. I apologize for the quality, as I was standing a little ways away from it...
Thanks again!

Sorry Ashlie, your original pictures were too large to load into our picture albums.
I downloaded, resized and reuploaded them for you.
I put your site name in the title to give you credit for them but the site automatically assigns them to whoever uploads them.
You pictures are of a Southern Copperhead and they are not bad pictures at all.

Thank you all very much! I was pretty sure thats what it was, but I wasn't 100% sure. I thought the snake was beautiful, and it was just so quiet and peaceful as it moved along. Being from the suburbs of Cincinnati on the Kentucky side, I never really had the chance to see snakes in their natural habitat. Of course though, as a former Soldier and avid camping fan, I had the sense to not just run up and play with it. Luckily I saw it before my dog did, cause I am sure he'd have been all over it...
Again, thanks y'all! And I apologize for the file size, I didn't realize I uploaded the originals.
