A couple months ago i posted a topic asking for advice on what venomous snake i should start off with, after weighing everyones opinions, and working with one of my mothers friend who keeps a couple venomous native species, i decided to i wanted to start off with a southern copperhead. I am glad to say that the one i bought is a beautiful male. although its a lot different than taking care of my other non venomous snakes, i have gotten the hang of it, and keep my head up all the time. He is quite chill most of the time, but there has been some points where he became agitated while moving him from one cage to another so i could clean. But so far so good, i would like to thank everyone on here for their advice, and input, it has really helped me out. Any time i need a question answered i will post a topic because you all are very helpful. -Jordan

Jordan- I highly recommend you read this article about a bite from a S. Copperhead... just to keep it real. I know someone who died from renal failure do to complications resulting from a copperhead bite. Be very careful!

Hey Jordan, Glad to see that you chose a southern copperhead. They're great snakes, very hardy, and usually pretty easy to care for.Theres tons of info on them around the internet and tons of experience right here on this website. Be careful, and enjoy your new snake. MartyM
