After I read what this gentleman posted in regards to not recieving his part of the trade,...one thought came to mind. "Is he insain to imply that he's sending someone to this guys house?!" Now, if something does happen to that guy, guess who's going to be implicated? WOW, what a dumb thing to do. It was just a thought. Hope all had a great Christmas.

intimidation can prevent something worse. the USA intimidates other countries to prevent wars or to get what they want from them without having to fight about it. all countries or entities capable of intimidation usually do just that; intimidate others to further their own agenda. sometimes being extra nice will work but it's rare. it's how the world works.
sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. i had to drive 8 hours to physically force a guy to make right on a bad car title. that was far more troublesome than scaring the guy into sending me a valid title.
also, threatening to visit someone isn't the same as threatening to kill them. nothing wrong with knowing people willing to be a physical presence in these situations.
we all know it's easier to be brave when the guy is hours away on another keyboard and not on your front porch. also, not all scammers are keen on getting the authorities involved.

It is not smart to imply on the internet that you are planning to do something, even if a scammer has stolen from you. Just warn other folks that he is a crook. There are far too many government folks watching all that is said on the web. Just do what needs to be done, but don`t put it on the web.
Intimidation does have its place. I have helped collect many thousands of dollars in rents in the past, by riding along with a property owner to collect rents from dead beat tenants in the bad part of town.
We would take along this big fellow who was an retired price fighter (he used to spar with Muhammad Ali when he was younger), and at the time I was teaching Tae Kwon-Do Martial Arts and working out.
It was amazing how many times this skinny landlord went to the door, and when the folks answered, they saw these two big ugly white dudes standing behind the landlord, and suddenly the dead beats "found" the past due rent money, LOL !
Intimidation works, publishing it on the net does not !
Best Regards and Happy New Year !

Yes, intimidation does work. But again, DON'T PUBLIZIZE IT! That was my point.

no one publicized anything, that's just it. saying you know some people who'll visit the guy is not threatening to give him a colombian necktie or anything. don't be a girl. you're just making nothing into something because you're bored.

Hey,........wait a minute. You're totally missing my point. I guess you dont get it. And no, it's not because I'm bored. But due to your response, I get the feeling that you just like to talk trash,......you're backing up my opinion. So thanks. Good luck with this whole deal, I hope you get whatever you were suppossed to get.

I'm afraid I would have to agree with the blowing it out of proportion outlook. All he said was going to be getting a visit.
While some would take that as a threat, others would not. As someone else stated, it's easy to play hardass when you think the other person is 1000 miles away, and you will never have to bother with them.
It's a whole different thing when he, or his friends, show up at your door and look you in the eye and ask questions. When I read it that was what I imagined, and I'm definitely no liberal, bleeding-heart pacifist.
Now, had he said that he was going to "send the boys over to beat some sense into him" I'd take it an entirely different way. ;^)

also, most people aren't idiots & had rather get their money back than beat someone up, risk injury, get arrested & get nothing of value. also, i'm not the one who posted the classifieds thing, that person hasn't chimed in here, i was just saying my piece.

Just a note ,,,
A surprising number of people , when faced with a percieved threat , will immediately go off on you , with out regard for size difference , weapons , or anything else you might think up .
