I suggest that anyone that lives in South Carolina get involved in SCARK. Any organization is only as strong as its membership. Roark can't do it all by himself, and it also takes the cumulative dollars of everyone in the state to get and keep things going. It would be great if some of you South Carolina guys would step up and give Roark your support.
That's my opinion on the matter.

I agree with Chris. If you want to stop anti-herp legislation join SCARK and throw your active support behind them. They are your best weapon against API and their agenda to end animal ownership and use. SCARK has solid leadership with Roark Ferguson at the helm and supported by Sal Ricco and John Pullian on the BOD. They will need all the help they can get as it is likely that SC will fall into the crosshairs of API toward the end of this month. Expect legislation to be introduced. Roark, Sal and John are capable men but votes and money is what will be needed to win this fight!

Justin, you should join SCARK, especially now that it has a Board of Directors with Sal Ricco, John Pullian, and others helping out.
If the folks in South Carolina get involved like the folks in North Carolina did, it could be very strong in fighting the animal rights nut cases when they try to change the laws in your state.
As far as the Coastal Carolina Herp Society, they can be reached at: http://www.ccherps.org/

Chuck, the change to the GA law was opposed by the State DNR, (gosh, what a surprise !), and the Legislator folks on the G&F committee usually listen to them.
Last I heard the bill did not stand much of a chance of getting passed.
The fellow in the State House who introduced the bill was not a member of the G&F committee, so, without a lot of public support, it will proove difficult to get it passed.
